This fall The Linden Grove Foundation added two things people have been asking for: a way to apply for a bed at the Harlem House online, and a way to support our work with a secure online donation. Both are live on this website now.
A Housing Application That Takes About Ten Minutes
Getting into recovery housing should not depend on catching someone on the phone at the right moment. Our new online application walks you through a short set of questions about your situation, your recovery so far, and what you need from a home. It takes about ten minutes, and your progress saves as you go, so you can stop and come back to it.
A member of our team reads every application and reaches out within 24 hours to talk through availability and next steps. If you would rather talk to someone before applying, you can still call us at (412) 284-4718.
The application is for men 18 and older in recovery, and it is especially useful for people who are still in treatment, detox, a hospital, or a halfway house. You can start before your discharge date so a bed can be lined up when you leave.
For Case Managers, Probation Officers and Discharge Planners
Many of the men who come to us are referred by treatment programs, probation and parole, and the courts. Referral partners can send clients straight to the online application, or call us to talk through a placement. We work with referral sources on any conditions or required length of stay.
Secure Online Giving
The Linden Grove Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donations go directly to the men living at the Harlem House. You can now give any amount online through PayPal, using a PayPal account or any debit or credit card, and you will receive an emailed receipt.
Program fees cover the cost of the housing. Donations help residents directly: help with program fees for those who need it, bus passes, household supplies, and items for the house.
Finding Us in the Recovery Community
You may also start seeing our flyers around Pittsburgh recovery clubs, including the Onala Club, the Cash Club in McKees Rocks and the Camel Club in Penn Hills. Each one has a QR code that goes straight to the application. If you know someone who needs a safe place to live while they rebuild, pass it along.
