The Harlem House, our recovery home for men at 82 Harlem Avenue in McKees Rocks, is up and running. A house manager is on site, the program is in place, and we are accepting applications for open beds now.
Who We Are Looking For
The Harlem House is for men 18 and older who are in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction and want a structured, supervised place to live while they rebuild. Many of the men who come to us are leaving treatment, detox, a hospital, a halfway house or incarceration, and many are referred by courts, probation and parole.
We welcome men who are on medication-assisted treatment such as Suboxone or Vivitrol, as long as it is prescribed and managed by a physician licensed in Pennsylvania.
What a Week in the House Looks Like
Recovery here runs on routine. Residents attend seven 12-step or other recovery meetings a week (five if working) during roughly their first six months, and the AA and NA meetings in McKees Rocks are within walking distance. Everyone works with a sponsor, takes part in the weekly house meeting with the house manager, and handles assigned chores to keep the home clean.
During the day, residents are working, looking for work, or in school or vocational training. Bus lines and grocery stores are close by, so getting to a job, an appointment or a meeting does not require a car. Curfew is 11pm Monday through Thursday and midnight Friday through Sunday, and random drug testing keeps the house safe and sober for everyone in it.
The House Itself
The Harlem House is a solid brick home with room for up to nine men in shared bedrooms, a kitchen and dining area, a living room, laundry, and a back porch and yard. Stowe Township issued the house its Certificate of Occupancy in September 2026 after a completed final inspection.
The monthly Program Participation Fee is $600, which covers your bed and the cost of running the program.

Prefer to talk first, or referring someone? Call us at (412) 284-4718. Case managers, probation and parole officers, and discharge planners are welcome to send clients to the application or call to discuss a placement.
